Terms of use

Last updated: September 2026.

These terms cover bookings made through nerdwithtools.com ("the site"), by phone, or through a marketplace like Thumbtack or Google Local Services. By booking a job, you agree to them.

Estimates, not fixed prices

Every total you see on the site — in the booking wizard, in a confirmation email, or in a text — is an estimate, not a final, binding price. It's built from the services and add-ons you choose and the prices in our catalog at the time you confirm. The price can change on site if the actual job differs from what you booked: for example, a wall type we can't see in advance (brick, tile, concrete), unexpected wiring, extra hardware, or a bigger job than described. We'll tell you before doing any work that costs more than what you booked.

What's included

Current services and prices are listed on the Services page and confirmed again in the booking wizard before you pay anything. If you supply your own TV mount, we charge labor only. If we supply the mount, that's a separate line item.

Booking and access

You're responsible for giving us an address and access details (gate codes, parking, pets, etc.) that get us to the right place and let us do the work. A decision-maker for the job should be present, especially for TV mounting, so we can confirm placement before we drill.

Payment

The site does not collect payment or store card details. Payment is due at or after the job, by Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, or card. See Services for current accepted methods.

Insurance and warranty

We carry general liability insurance for our work. If a TV is damaged during mounting because of our work, replacement is covered through that insurance, and remounting the replacement TV is free. If a TV we mounted tilts or comes loose later because of a mount or install issue on our end, we'll return and re-secure it at no labor charge. This doesn't cover damage to a customer-supplied mount, or wall or structural failure unrelated to our install.

Cancelling or rescheduling

See the Cancellation & rescheduling page for how that works and what notice we ask for.

Limits on liability

We aren't liable for delays or issues caused by things outside our control (weather, building access we can't get, incorrect information given at booking). Our liability for any job is limited to the amount actually paid for that job, except where the law doesn't allow that limit.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page as the business changes. The version in effect when you book is the one that applies to that job.
